The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile invites applications for the position of Executive Director of the Vice President's Office for International Affairs (VRAI). This role contributes to advancing UC's international projection, strengthening its global presence, and aligning international initiatives with the University's educational project. The Executive Director is responsible for coordinating and supervising the teams, processes, and resources of the areas under their responsibility, promoting efficient, collaborative, and continuously improving management, with a service-oriented focus toward internal and external stakeholders, in line with the University's strategic plan.
Key Challenges and Responsibilities
- Global Partnerships: Manage the creation, strengthening, and operation of strategic international partnerships with universities and global networks, working closely with senior leadership to identify priorities and ensuring rigorous, impactful, and institutionally aligned implementation through agile management methods and efficient evaluation mechanisms. The role is also expected to represent the University in international settings.
- Exchange Programs: Oversee and support the proper implementation of student and academic exchange programs, strengthening the global projection of the UC community. Ensure their sustainability through a development plan that anticipates critical scenarios and reinforces collaboration networks.
- Attraction of International Talent: Support the design and implementation of initiatives to attract and welcome outstanding international students, academics, and researchers, coordinating these actions with institutional policies for academic development.
- Curriculum Internationalization: Support the integration of successful experiences and curricular approaches into study plans, promoting international standards of teaching and learning. Foster an institutional culture of continuous improvement and educational innovation, in close collaboration with academic units.
- Institutional Coordination: Work in a coordinated manner with the University's faculties and units, articulating the operational and strategic functions of the VRAI to ensure coherence, cross-cutting reach, and process standardization-efficiently and in fulfillment of agreed objectives. Promote appropriate conditions for the active presence of internationalization across the entire university community.
Perfil deseado
Profile Requirements
Strong, demonstrated leadership capacity in university environments or other complex organizations.
Proven track record in university management or related roles.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Advanced level of Spanish and English, spoken and written.
Professional degree or bachelor's degree with postgraduate studies.
Proven experience in preparing and monitoring budgets and, ideally, in implementing and optimizing operational procedures.
Commitment to quality standards and continuous improvement.
Collaborative capacity and a strong team-working ethos.
Innovative and proactive attitude, with an international outlook capable of anticipating trends in higher education.
