CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR AN ACADEMIC POSITION IN PUBLIC HISTORY AT THE INSTITUTE OF HISTORY UC

The Institute of History, at the Faculty of History, Geography and Political Science at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position (44 hours) in Public History at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will commence January 2025 or soon as possible thereafter.

The candidate must demonstrate capacity for the development of the line of Public History at undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting research and professional work in an autonomous and collaborative manner, on topics mainly associated with Public History.

The candidate’s primary area of teaching responsibility will be in Public History, but also undergraduate and graduate courses in History and related fields within the University.

A disciplinary profile in History is expected, with an interdisciplinary perspective, and with an emphasis on contemporary issues.

The person is also expected to develop knowledge transfer, academic management, professional education and administrative tasks.
