Under the general direction of the Sr. GL Manager LATAM / 3C’s, manages a variety of accounting activities to maintain accurate ledger accounts. Ensures accounting operations comply with generally accepted accounting principles and Corporate and local tax regulations and are in compliance with company procedures. Timely communication with Sr. Management of issues and concerns to ensure no financial surprises.
Major Job Functions:
•Coordinates day to day operations and administering company policies and procedures through staff. Includes supervising, assigning work, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, training, directing efforts and providing technical guidance on complex issues.
•Coaches staff and participates in the resolution of escalated issues with internal and external customers.
•Tests and implements accounting system enhancements. Works with technical personnel to resolve accounting system problems.
•Manages the preparation of responses to audit requests.
•May provide input on personnel actions (e.g. staffing, terminations, objective setting, performance and salary reviews, disciplinary actions, and scheduling)
•Provides immediate supervision to employees. Supervises accounting staff responsible for various “low:” to “medium-high” complexity balance sheet asset and liability accounts.
•Implements new procedures and processes as accounting requirements change with business needs. Investigates new methods and procedures and recommends process improvements
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience
•Working knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
•Ability to manage and direct a diversified staff
•Strong analytical skills essential
•Strong PC skills required.
•Ability to prioritize and organize work flow
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to work in a team environment
5 to 10 years of professional experience in Accounting including minimum of 2 years managerial experience
